How do I season the burrs in P100?

Modified on Thu, 19 Jan, 2023 at 1:45 PM

Generally, we don't believe seasoning is required as the burrs are perfectly capable out of the box. It may improve slightly over time but our general stance is seasoning is a wasteful practice and so we would not endorse it for that reason alone.

However, we understand that the need may vary depending on the situation and some users may prefer to do so for specific reasons. To season the grinder, try

  • Set speed to the highest RPM (Speed 9)
  • Grind setting about 2.5 (25 ticks from burrs touch) - the grind would be finer than drip but coarser than espresso grind.
  • Make sure the outlet is not blocked.
  • Grind 5-10 kg and let it cool down completely (for 3-5 hours before resuming).

There's a built in overheat sensor in the PCB. If it's too warm, the grinder will stop working until it has cooled back down.
